Dr. Randall Ross is a board certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist. He is a graduate of Cornell University and New York Medical College. Dr. Ross completed his residency in Psychiatry at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, New York and his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. Dr. Ross is a graduate and member of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute and Society in New York City and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Following his training in child and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Ross served for seven years as the Program Chief of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Department at The St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York. Since that time, in addition to his private practice, Dr. Ross served as a consultant to The Young Adult Institute/Premier Health Care in New York City for twenty years. The Young Adult Institute is an organization that serves the needs of a multitude of children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Dr. Ross has been in private practice in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry for over thirty years. He has extensive experience in both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. He has helped numerous children and adults in their struggles with underlying conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, and Autistic Spectrum Disorders, including Asperger's Disorder. Dr. Ross has helped children and their families deal with the stresses related to separation and divorce, parental loss and illness. He works with many college aged students, young adults, and adults, helping individuals to understand more about their inner lives and to resolve conflicts related to work and relationships. In addition to his work with individuals, Dr. Ross has expertise in the area of couples and family therapy. Dr. Ross has extensive experience consulting with teachers, school psychologists, guidance counselors and administrators in order to help assess the needs of children with learning and emotional issues in the school setting.
